WhatsApp Copies Snapchat's Disappering Stories Feature, But Still Looks Awesome

Facebook Owned WhatsApp has launched a new feature which let users share photos and videos by just putting them in status with their contacts. This feature is a copy of Snapchat’s disappearing stories feature.

After Instagram and Facebook, the so-called “Disappearing Stories” Feature now copied by WhatsApp. This feature was first tested in beta version in November 2016 and now has been launched to Android, Windows and iOS users all around the world.

Let me tell you that our favourite messenger WhatsApp has become 8 years old now. Yes, today (24th February) is its birthday. So WhatsApp updated itself and gave us a new feature and even this feature is secured by end-to-end encryption too.WhatsApp Copies Snapchat's Disappering Stories Feature, But Still Looks Awesome

There is a change in U.I (User Interface). Even you can edit your photos, videos and GIFs too. If you don’t know how to use this feature then click here.

WhatsApp status includes similar features of Snapchat and Instagram Stories.

  • You can draw place emojis on the photo.
  • You can add a caption that will be shown on the bottom of the photo.

After you will update your WhatsApp, you’ll see the all new U.I. This contains new tabs and the position of old tabs has been changed. You’ll see the “Camera” icon, “Chats” tab, all new “Status” tab and “Calls” tab. When you’ll slide into “Status” tab you’ll see something like this (below).

From here you can see your contact’s stories along with their status and you can update your status along with a picture too. This status will disappear after 24 hours just as Instagram’s Stories feature (below).

And the best part is you can even reply on the status of your friend directly. The only thing you have to do is just swap on ^reply, which is at the bottom of the screen.

Highlights Of Some WhatsApp Features

You can share your status can be as long as 45 sec, instead of limiting to 10 sec.

And you can upload GIFs!

Uploading GIFs is now became easy with the new WhatsApp update.

Select a GIF, trim it down if you need to, and share just as you would a regular, boring, photo or video. Your status will remain for 24 hours after that it will disappear.
